In the 20th anniversary of Empire Magazine (the largest selling film magazine in Britain) they published a special edition that was guest-edited by Steven Spielberg.

The 20th anniversary issue featured over 27 Hollywood stars reliving some of their famous performances in their normal everyday attire.

Event: Nancy Introducing Good Health Magazine

14 May

Last week we were invited to the launch of the Arabic version of Good Health magazine (originally Australian) at Shaikha Salwa Al Sabah ballroom at Marina Crescent. The event started at 6 and to my surprise there weren’t much people. They brought Nancy Ajram for the launch as she is the cover girl of their first issue. I was excited to meet Nancy as its my first time, however I was SO surprised of how things were going! There weren’t any security, the event wasnt organized enough, and everything was happening randomly.

What did I think of Nancy?

Well, she seemed to be a very nice person and SHY! I didn’t think she would be like that as she’s a celebrity and probably too used to this, but she was sitting quietly, giving shy smiles and maybe a bit scared lol. But besides that, she was sweet to everyone and not minding taking pictures and signing the magazines.

There was also different sections in the room where they had a woman reading the ora of whoever is interested. I took my chances on that and she was right about a lot of things! the most important thing that she told me is that my kidneys are calling for water and that i should drink a lot of it (I DONT DRINK WATER AT ALL) so I think I should listen to my kidneys more often. Also there was a bar where they were serving weird drinks of fruits and vegetables.

Overall, It was a nice event, tho it would have been a definite success if there was a press conference and if it was more organized.

One of those Days: Change

9 May

I’m a person who likes routine and change from time to time, if I get a busy schedule for more than a week (unless am traveling) I get tired and want to go back to my old routine. But that’s not the routine am talking about, I’m talking about the routine of not sleeping well, work, and stress. These all are not good routine in any way, and it’s a sign that I need immediate change or probably need to travel somewhere far.

Lately it has been very boring at work, some major changes were going to happen, everyone was trying to ask around if they have any news or something to gossip about, but everything was hush-hush which made us more nervous and lost about what to expect. Untill everything exploded last week! it was a definite relief, it was good enough, at least for now. This is way I have been away, I have so much catching up to do, hopefully soon ill go back on my feet and start blogging properly like before.

mother arrested for taking 5 year old to tanning booth?

3 May

the perils of tanning booths has been greatly highlighted recently, the biggest problem is addictions that arise from these sort of things..

all harm that we may do to our bodies may be tolerated in moderation.. however.. arresting this woman may be useless… this is a woman that needs a lot of help – looking at the colour should show that she has severe body dis morphia of some sort.. i feel sad for these sort of people…

so this is how the story goes:

A New Jersey woman arrested after police said she brought her 5-year-old daughter into a tanning booth said  Wednesday that she was innocent of the charges but admits to excessive tanning herself.

Patricia Krentcil, 44, pleaded not guilty to second-degree child endangerment and said outside court that she is a “wonderful mother.”
Asked whether she admits to excessive tanning, Krentcil said “yes,” but insisted she would never subject her red-haired, fair-skinned daughter to the heat of a tanning bed.

The girl, who authorities said suffered a sunburn from the tanning booth, was allowed to stay in the home but is now being monitored by state child welfare workers.

Krentcil insists her daughter was never exposed to the tanning booth’s UV rays and instead got slightly sunburned while playing outside on a warm day.

The girl’s father told NBC 4 New York that his daughter told classmates at school that she “went tanning with Mommy.” He thinks a teacher overheard, inaccurately connected the girl’s sunburn to the tanning salon trip and contacted police.
