ipod vending machines? really?

Well apparently you can buy an ipod in a vending machine! really? like really? like is that what you would do? would people really buy an ipod from a vending machine?

well for those who would buy an ipod, or perhaps wouldn’t – how do you feel about buying a lobsterr from a vending machine?

this would be a great invention for somebody who gets lobster cravings at 5 am in the morning! i’m just wondering how they come out the vending machine (as in what are they wrapped in) – just be careful one of those little monsters doesn’t bite you as you take it home!!!!!!!

we all know how healthy eggs are.. so the japanese have invented an egg vending machine!!!!!!!! i wonder if most of the eggs break on the way out ;p

Oldies: mIRC

You probably all went through the mIRC phase right? come on don’t deny it, and to be honest, we didn’t have anything better to do lol. mIRC is an Internet Relay Chat client for Microsoft Windows, it was created in 1995 and developed by a guys named Khaled Mardam-Bey. What you might not know is that this guy is a British programmer with Palestinian & Syrian origins. Dont you remember seeing his picture when you log in?

I remember that I used to spend hours chatting and making friends, I even got a little bit professional where I had my own channels and admins! I used to know lots of codes and was very fast, not something to be very proud of ha lol!!

So the other day I was remembering those old days me and my friend and we thought like hey!! how about we download it and try it again! so it took me less than 5 minutes to download and go on with it! and to my surprise, there are people who still join and CHAT!! and guess what, I entered Kuwait channel and there were at least 50 people there who opened a conversation with me and were like “asl plz?” and I was like OMGGGGG!!!!!! people are still doing thaaaaaat!!!

so for the old times sake, go and download mIRC HERE and have some laugh!! let me know how it turns out ;)

Ads: Plays & Lack Of Creativity

This is one of the things that pisses me off! seeing an ad for ANYTHING that was stolen from somewhere else! This is not the first time I see something in Kuwait or anywhere else that I know is stolen. Egyptian movies do that a lot where they steal the same idea of another movie, characters and even poster!

What you see above is an ad for a horror play that will take will start showing this Eid and the poster was stolen from the movie “A Nightmare on Elm Street” (see the real poster below). It just doesn’t make any sense that someone (or a bunch of people) would go through the trouble of writing a scenario, bring actors, rehearsals and all of that, and STILL can’t manage to get a proper ad for the play!! it would be much better for me to see an ad with ONLY the name of the play than to see this.

Now here’s another funny play poster, now this play is called SHREK and of course all of you know whose SHREK is!! fine you wana make a play about SHREK then that’s ok, you wana call it in Arabic الغول that’s fine too..i guess. But the fact that you call the play SHREK and you put a poster where all the actors wearing t-shirts with the SMURFS on them!!!!!!!!!!!! that’s just NONSENSE!

I know it’s a kids play and they would be happy to see either SHREK or the Smurfs, but come on!! WHY WHY WHY!!

 

TV: Shawahed on MBC

A couple of weeks ago by accident i ran into a show that was on MBC, put in mind that am not a TV person and for something to get my attention then it has to be something really interesting. The show was called Shawahed (شواهد) and it talks about very sensitive subjects from different perspectives on each episode. They also show you the scientific and religious point of view behind it. If you can’t consider yourself an open minded person then don’t watch it. Learning new things by watching TV shows or reading books does NOT mean believing.

Childhood Memories: How Much Can You Remember

One of the days that I spent with my grandma got me amazed of how much details she can remember from her own childhood, she kept on telling stories that somehow doesn’t sound real to me cuz it was in a totally different place, culture and life style, but it was definitely interesting.

Looking back at my own childhood, it seems like pictures and short clips, some are major events and some are just random and meaningless. When we were sharing these stories, I was surprised to know that my earliest memory happened when i was 3 years old!! I never thought that I could remember something at that age and stick in my head, but cuz it was almost a near death experience so it left a deep impact on me. The second one would be when I was 5. After that, it seems like i had absolutely nothing good to store in my brain so it’s just random images.

Tell me about your earliest childhood memory and how much can you remember.

well there’s more than one i promise u!!!

1) i have to eat everything in even numbers.. unless i eat one of something – one m&m is okay – but if i eat two – then it must continue upwards in even numbers. this does not apply to crisps or chips ;p

2) crumbs – anywhere i see crumbs i have to clean! even if there’s just one teeny tiny crumb on the floor.. i need to sweep the whole surrounding area! if my neice eats a biscuit! everything around her is cleaned while she’s eating to minimise crumbs

3) sticky anything – if something gets sticky it must be cleaned instantly. my hands – the table – my niece’s face! so u can imagine how bothered i must be getting everytime she eats (she’s only 9 months ;p) so yes! there we have it..

those are the 3 that come to mind now now!

do any of u have OCDs?? ;p

 

I LOVE Casper & Gambini’s

It’s been one of those places that i love for a very long time, I just don’t know how come I haven’t posted about it before!

The love for C&G started when i first started working, which is like 4 years ago, we used to order a lot of sandwiches and salads, and it was the perfect breakfast or lunch too. Then the love became bigger when i was introduced to their branch next to the church in Kuwait city. I just loved the place, and yes that was before they actually start the whole first ring road construction and ruin the whole area.

So why do i like the place? Well its quiet most of the times, everyone is minding their own business. They have comfy couches where you can sit and relax. It’s not a smoking free place, so again…comfortable :P and ofcourse the food, which i won’t talk about much so i can stay fair.

So a couple of days ago i managed to sneak out of work and head to C&G, i met my friend there and both of us were starving. I ordered their original omelet with herbs, and my friend had the delicious pancakes, but don’t think i let anything slip away like that, we both shared so we can have a bit of everything :D

I have always liked their menus and the artistic paintings on the walls, but i never really noticed this one, it kinda made me wonder and it was a bit freaky! Why this guy looking behind the door like that! Creepy…
