Therapy, Do You Need It?

23 Jan

We all probably grew up watching movies that shows people going to a therapist because they have serious problems! It’s either because they have lost a close person and can’t get over the fact that they no longer exist, or a couple facing problems in their life so they head to the marriage/relationship counsellor, or just a person who has some anger issues. No matter what it is, they always show us messed up people going to a therapist, which I think is wrong.

We meet different people everyday who we might think have some serious issues and need immediate action whether at work, family or friends. Those people don’t actually realize that they have a problem, a few of them who does don’t really wanna take it to a professional because in the Arab world therapy is for CRAZY people only. Not to forget also the fact that Kuwait in particular is very small and people care about their reputation and what people might think of them if they find out.

How would you know if you have a problem? or what are the signs that could tell a person is having a problem. This is the important question  now! To me this is how I rate people:

1. Depression: if a person is always depressed, can’t see anything good in his life, cries a lot, lost of interest in everything, doesn’t like to socialize with other, frustrated, all of these signs mean this person is going the wrong road in life! I’m personally frustrated with work and it can get me depressed every now and then, but there are so many other good things in my life that makes me happy.

2. Drugs: people who uses drugs (taking pills, alcohol, smoking) as a solution to make themselves feel better all the time. This is a huge problem as they end up addicted to that drug and obviously did not solve the main problem.

3. Anger: some people are always edgy, angry, mad at something, its like they are always on hold waiting for something wrong to happen so they can burst it all out! which probably would cause them lots of troubles and losing their close ones.

4. Health: some people may feel physical pain which is caused by some psychological problem that doctors can’t solve.

5. Low self confidence: people who always feel bad about themselves, they think they are ugly, they always compare themselves to others.

All of these things are signs that sometimes I notice with the people who I meet everyday, which makes me believe that those people need SERIOUS help asap and shouldnt take it for granted.

BUT on the other hand, I don’t think only those people should go and see a therapist, I think everyone should do that even if they think they don’t have a problem at all! now let’s be honest, we ALL had a problem somewhere in our lives, we all went through some tough times, we all have secrets, and we aren’t very educated in this field, so why not let someone professional take the lead and help you even if it’s just a small issue in your life! at the end it would make your life better wouldn’t it?

All am saying here is that am really interested in visiting a therapist some day! I think it would be fun and interesting, people should start looking at it in a different way.

Have you ever been to one? how did it go? and if no, would you?

Blog Feature: Pink Girl Q8

18 Jan

Its been a really long time that we havent updated our favourite bloggers list, it’s not that we are very picky or we don’t think there’s someone who would fit in that list, it’s actually the opposite, but we have been busy with so many things and we apologize, we carry great respect to all of our fellow bloggers and we care about how present their image the right way.

The new blogger that we are adding to our list is the sweet Pink Girl :) she started awhile back but we never really had the chance to meet in person untill recently. As most of you may know, she’s such a sweet heart with a kind heart, she’s very active, very passionate and always make sure to be present at any event :) Her blog is almost about everything, but what I have noticed is that her focus is mostly on restaurants (lots of yummy reviews), salons and beauty centers (so you would know where to go on your next event), fashion, and she definitely encourages lots and lots of small businesses which is great.

What I like mostly about her blog is that she make sure to take lots of pictures, and I don’t mean repetitive ones like some other bloggers do, which can be very hard for me to read her blog at work as it can get stuck and not load cuz we have some stupid PCs at work hehe.

We are very happy to have you on our list Pink Girl, we respect you, appreciate your work and simply support you :)

Follow her on Twitter , YouTube or contact her directly HERE.

One of those Days: Away for a while

23 Dec

Its one of those days when you are supposed to be traveling but you just don’t feel it yet. I had a very busy week preparing for the trip and getting everything ready, yesterday was supposed to be more of a relaxing day, until I started to feel sick, definitely not the right time as am traveling only for 10 days and there will be a wedding and a new years party on the schedule! Right now am half packed, I still need to get some stuff and am still doubting the idea of goin to the doctor, I just don’t wanna bother myself.

I wanna take this moment to thank everyone who asked about us as we have been going slow with the blog lately, thank you, we are still alive, and we will be back better than before, we just need some time i guess. For me  I don’t think I will be blogging in the next 10 days as I will be super busy, but ill be missing this place for sure.

Happy holidays everyone, merry christmas and wish you a happy new year, may it bring you everything you wished for.

APP: Instagram Between Love & Hate

13 Dec

Am not making this post to tell you what is instagram, that’s kinda old news as almost everyone is using nowadays. This application has made our live much easier and more fun somehow, you can simply shoot a picture, edit it and share it on your social network in less than a minute. It took me a while to get into instagram as I don’t have an iPhone but I do have an iPad, so the moment I had time to put pictures on my iPad I went on with it and started enjoying it.

What do I LOVE about it:

Basically the simplicity of it, not like other applications where its a bit more complicated. This is an application that can be used by everyone. What I also love about it is the filters they offer and their varieties, its true that I tend to use just a couple of them every time, but I guess that’s just my style. These filters can easily turn just a normal picture with nothing artistic into something beautiful.

What do I HATE about it:

Theres nothing I hate about it, it’s the people who uses it! don’t get all mean now I don’t mean EVERYONE, it’s just that some people think that if they have instagram then they are photographers, well NO, this thing was made for fun! if you do take some artistic pictures then great! but don’t write in your bio that you are an iPhone photographer and your pictures are basically skies and clouds, and I mean ugly ones.

Something else that i hate is that people who take pictures of EVERYTHING, ok so we tried so hard to understand your annoying usage of Twitter and how you tweet every second of your boring life, but I don’t really get why would you take a picture of everything in your room or house?!?! “am watching tv” , “am cooking” , “am pooping” that’s not the reason for this app, please don’t fill our timeline with meaningless pictures! again unless it’s a really nice picture, please don’t share.

Who do we LOVE to follow:

Heres just a couple of cool accounts that we love to follow and like their pictures, check them out :)

q8stig , thetriplef , how2q8 , p0ach , faithalfahad , pinkgirlq8 , halmansour , roumiyah , ali_alkhalifa , justnoon , dustyrose2011.

If you recommend new accounts please don’t hesitate to leave them in your comments :) and we wana take this chance to thank everyone who liked our pictures or left a comment :)

Event: Give for Kids with Cancer

5 Oct

I might be a bit late for this post but I really wanna make this post a bit special. If you are expecting nice pictures of food, or new places to visit or a review of a new movie, then you are wrong. This post is made with love to the kids who have cancer. I wrote a post HERE a couple of days ago about an event that is organized by one of our fellow bloggers Q8Rain to donate gifts and have a special party for the kids with cancer at the NBK Hospital. AGAIN, This isnt a one time thing, if you didnt participate or want to, theres always next month.

I arrived around 10 am that day to see Q8Rain & Pink Girl at the main entrance getting all the gifts gathered at one place. I rushed to help cuz the amount of gifts was unbelievable!! Kids were gathering and you can see them trying to smile because this is something un usual to them. However, you can still feel they aren’t too excited or hyper, just because they are simply sick.

Am writing this post and don’t know exactly what to write, The party was fun, the decoration, the face paint and crafts, the activities, there was food, flowers, frozen yogurt, and so so many things.

We stayed and played with the kids for a while, then we moved upstairs to the wards were some kids have more serious conditions and can’t be taken downstairs. They were all aged between 1 year up to 15 years old. It’s so sad to see these kids so weak and helpless. That makes me think of the amount of blessings that we have everyday and don’t even notice it. The whole event made me feel sad and grateful on so many levels. I hope I get the chance to go there every month to not forget.

IMPORTANT

One of the very serious cases is for this kid named Abdulkareem, I believe he’s 13 years old who was diagnosed with cancer in his knee. Sadly they can’t do the right operation for him in Kuwait, their solution is to cut his leg off before the cancer start spreading more. He only has 6 days left for someone to donate 30,000 KD to be able to go to Jordan and make the knee replacement operation. If you know anyone whose willing to help, please don’t hesitate to comment or email us and we will direct you to the right person.

We visited one of the wards play rooms (which i was very happy to see the decoration and the fun stuff the kids can enjoy) and starting drawing notes for the kids. This is only the first time, Inshalah every time we go will do something to remind them that we are there.

I would like to thank personally EVERYONE who donated something, who even thought of helping and couldn’t. You all are great with big hearts, lets keep it this way every month, think about the amount of money you spend over silly things, these people seriously need it.

A special thank you to the people behind this Q8Rain & Iyaa, just know that we are always willing to help for a good cause. A big thank you to the bloggers who made it that day Pink Girl, Omarker, Blog37, Bloglaish, Dudette from 7ajidude, Triple Sisters, BerooQ8. A hug and a thank you to all the doctors and nurses that helped us, THANK YOU!

The companies that donated: Express Food, PICK YO, Tolipias Sense, We Love Kuwait, The Little Joy Shop, Solo Pizza Napulitana, Q8Printer

Support: GIVE..Bloggers to Community

2 Oct

Our fellow blogger and friend Q8Rain took a huge step forward towards humanity and helping people out. Whats great about this is that she made a commitment to help kids with cancer, her commitment is to try to make them happy and smile once a month, and we have to help her out too.

To some of you the word Cancer is just a word that means a disease, some can’t even say it thinking if they do then they bring bad luck to themselves, and some who knows exactly what it means because it’s either they suffer from it or was cured. Whatever that word means to you, you should never underestimate it or the people who suffer from it.

I personally had a friend who used to have leukemia and gladly was cured from it. I know for a fact that me staying around her and act like nothing is going on was the best thing that ive given her. People who suffer from cancer need just SOMEONE to be around, to talk to, to make them laugh, and this is the whole point of this campaign.

What you can do?

Theres gonna be a party for the kids with cancer every month at the NBK Hospital, again..its EVERY MONTH! All your asked to do is to donate something, toys, coloring books, games, educational stuff, whatever you can afford, they are kids and believe me they aren’t demanding, we just wana make them smile and have a good time. If you think you have more ideas you can participate in to make the party more joyful, please don’t hesitate.

When?

Tomorrow the 3rd of October is the first party, It will start at 10:30 till 12:30 and we hope we can make those 65 kids see life differently for those 2 hours at least.

How?

You can easily contact Q8Rain or send us here and we will make sure to deliver whatever you have to offer.

What did we do?

We tried to provide whatever we can in such a short period and wrap them, hopefully next month we can think of something more creative :) I wanna thank also my bestie Yayoo for donating some toys and also That Al Salasil who were very welcoming to the idea and were very happy to help and send us lots of kids books.

We wanna thank Q8Rain for this thoughtful idea and hope all the bloggers can take this seriously and act up on it. It will not cost you much believe me, you can make someone happy by doing this, so think about it. We also added a badge on our side banner to be an official supporter. I will personally wear YELLOW tomorrow cuz gold is the color of childhood cancer ribbon, so why don’t we all do that?
