Movie Review: The Devil Inside

As you all may know, am a horror movie freak, I just have to see the new horror movies even if they were silly! Not a really big fan of movies that talks about exorcism but again, I just have to see them :P Not a very long time ago I have watched the Rite, which btw I recommend if you don’t mind watching such movies, and now The Devil Inside. I must say there is a huge similarity in all the movies that talk about exorcism but its all down to the acting and the plot and how it can get you interested.

Back to the Devil Inside, the movie is about a woman (Maria Rossi) who killed three people during an exorcism session that was made on her. Maria gets locked in a mental hospital back in Rome (which is very well-known for their belief in exorcism) and then her daughter tries to find out the truth behind her illness and whether she can help her or not.

You might also wonder if it’s a true story or not, as they show in the trailer there was a recorded call that was made by Maria Rossi to 911. Well you can rest, it’s NOT  a true story! However, Maria Rossi is the name of a teenage murderer who killer her 70 years old neighbour and her dog back in the 1989. So I guess they picked the same name to make it more exciting.

What I really liked about the movie is the not so much scary scenes as it can be disturbing for some. the movie wasnt long but somehow the story was focused on more than one character, and I was happy that the ending wasnt so happy :P The daughter character wasnt really good in her acting, it was supposed to be like a documentary but she was acting like she was a real movie, which sucked! and whats up with the “connect the cuts” sentence that Maria keeps saying, I thought it would have a meaning later on!

If you like horror movies, give this one a try

why do i attract psychos?

i have a story to tell you about yesterday, but in order to do so i just need to give you a background from Saturday:

Saturday:

i was walking to the supermarket (Spinneys) the other day on saturday which is a few minutes from my house to pick up some blueberries! (i love em and they have such a nice burst of flavour) and some raspberries (for the tangyness that makes my mouth water everytime i think about them).. this was the first time i was going there since i had returned from my holiday from Kuwait…

and as i am walking to Spinneys there is a man who says hello to me, I say hello also.. he asks me how i am and where i’ve been (please bear in mind i have never even seen this man before and don’t know who he is, but he seems to know of my travels).. i’m polite and then say goodbye, taking a different route to him..

Yesterday (Monday):

i got home from work and went straight to Spinneys to pick up some sun-dried tomatoes to add to the salad i was making as part of dinner.. and who do i see in there! the same man as Saturday (i’m gonna call him “man x” from now on).. he says hi.. and ofcourse i am polite back.. i don’t know if the guy knows my father or whatever…

he’s in the queue to pay for his things as i get near the queues too.. he tells me to go infront of him.. i said thank you thank you it’s okay.. and went to a different queue.. he’s done before me.. but as i come out i see him on the phone just standing there.. he shuts the phone as soon as i get out and starts walking with me… this is how the convo went

him: what did you buy
me: things for a salad
him: fruit salad?
me: no just a salad with vegetables
him: if you ever make a fruit salad u must invite me
me: i hate fruit salads, i like fruits on their own
him: ohhh.. do you live alone?
me: no i live with my parents
him: are you married?
me: no
him: i’d like very much to get married
me: i don’t ever wanna get married, such a waste of time.. i’m happy.. why do i need a man to cause problems..
him: nooo!!! its very good.. u can have a different life.. u can have a man with you and then u can have kids
me: i hate kids.. they annoy me.. cause sooo many problems..
him: i must invite you to my restaurant sometime (pointing at the restaurant right next to us)
me: i eat there often.. its really nice food..
him: its because your mouth is lovely that you taste the food as nice
me: (smile) byyyeee
him: bye

i do not necessarily agree with everything that i said! but how do i react to that! i love kids!!! i absolutely adore kidsss!!!!!!!!!!!

why do i always find the weird ones :’(

Oldies: Rescue 911

Rescue 911 was probably in all of our childhood lives, it was maybe one of the very few shows that Kuwait Channel 2 air everyday and I wouldn’t be very surprised if they still do till this day :P The other days I was talking to my friend about this and i was surprised how much we remember!! we actually remember a lot of the stories that they included in the show which made me think that this was probably not right!! I mean we were 4 or 5 years old and we were watching a show that’s all about people going through near death experiences, whether it was caused by nature or another person caused it. I don’t think its right for kids at that age to watch such things, not that I hate it or think it affected my life dramatically, but i just don’t think its right.

How many of you used to watch it? how old were you and do you still remember a lot of it?

Moview Review: Paranormal Activity 3

By now you should know that am obsessed with Paranormal Activity! I have previously posted about a review of Paranormal Activity 2, then a review of Paranormal Activity Tokyo Night, and how excited I was when the trailer of Paranormal Activity 3 came out. so that says a lot about how much I like this movie :P

I was very excited to see this one for a reason and that is because with this one they go back in time and explain why this whole thing started when the characters were even kids so you can actually start connecting everything together :)

I always hate movie trilogy or sequels, it just feels like the movie keeps getting worse and worse and they are desperate to keep it on going but people still get disappointed. Well am gonna tell you one thing, I was definitely NOT disappointed of this one, I actually thought its the best out of the three.

Whats so special about it? well the first one had a lot of boring and repeated scenes, its like your watching and just waiting for that thing to happen. the second one was a bit more interesting, more characters and camera positions which was cooler but still there was some repeated scenes. However with this one, I don’t think it was boring AT ALL, so many different scenarios happening, a lot of them were not expected, more characters, and DEFINITELY more effects which is something I absolutely loved.

I wont talk about the ending so I wouldnt ruin it for you guys, but believe me its nothing compared to the movie itself, I honestly enjoyed everything else more than the ending itself. I highly recommend it if you like horror/thriller movies!

News: Small Plane Crashes Into a Ferris Wheel

Whenever I hear a story of a plane crash i panic!!  I just have this thing for airplanes and the idea of them crashing. However this story is a bit different and miraculously with no injuries. On the 1st of October an ultra-light plane crashed into a ferris wheel at a festival in Australia. Luckly only 2 kids were on the wheel at that time and they weren’t injured. The 2 passengers of the plane were also trapped (uninjured) for several hours till they were able to rescue them.

This is probably the worst nightmare that any kid could have!! am sure those 2 kids wont be going on the ferris wheel ever again. I find it as a silly ride anyway, whats the point of going up and down, its suppose to be for old people to enjoy the view that’s all :P
