Moody ‘N Cheeky on Jazeera Airways Inflight Magazine

A month ago we were contacted by Jazeera Airways agency that are in charge of their Inflight Magazine as they picked us to be part of their “I Heart Kuwait” series that was published this month as part of the National & Liberation day celebration. We were asked to pick a place that we like to go to in Kuwait and where else would we chose other than the fun and exciting “Shooting Range” :D

It was our first time to be featured in a magazine, and since then people started unexpectedly calling us after they have seen the magazine! Its weird in a way or another but we did enjoy it :) and now we are taking this chance to share it with you, simply because we DO heart Kuwait, we heart our blog and we heart our readers :D

If you are asking why did we chose the shooting range, well if you didn’t go there before they wouldn’t probably know what kind of thrill you are missing! It’s such an amazing place to let off some stress and forget about your hectic day and issues. Holding a real gun is definitely not like how you imagined it would be or as you see it in movies, its heavy and it’s not easy to just aim and shoot (that’s ofourse if you wanna hit the target properly :P).

First time I took Cheeky to this place she didn’t show any excitement, she was complaining that she would probably get a headache even before we enter! However, her face expressions changed 180 degrees after she was done, she was excited, thrilled and wanted to do it again! now that’s more like it ;)

One thing I have noticed every time i go there is that guys SUCK! sorry guys but you do (unless you are an exception :P) I see them leaving the range with their paper that has more than 20 holes and non of them is even close to the 7 circle! seriously guys?

We should set a day where we all bloggers hit the place and start shooting! maybe we can have a competition of the best shooting blogger :P how about that? hit me back with your opinion and maybe we can arrange something.

Oldies: Dialup Connection

Do you recognize this amazing sound?

Not a very long time ago most of us who were interested in the internet had only one choice and that is using a “Dial Up” connection. Ofcourse looking back at it right now makes it so stupid, but we didn’t have a better option and we were VERY happy with that option. I remember our parents were very against it at that time thinking its a very ineligible source of information, well I don’t blame them it was new to everyone, but to us it was a major source of ENTERTAINMENT and nothing close to learning :P

I remember on weekends it was one of the most fun things to look forward to! We started by using a couple of chatting programs like mIRC, ICQ and MSN, there was also another voice call chat program that I forgot what it’s called. We used to sit for hours and hours just chatting and wasting time. Honestly, I didn’t use to  google anything, that was boring at that time :P

I also remember how frustrating it was when your dialup card finishes or you get disconnected and can’t connect again! we used to spend hours trying to reconnect, eventually give up and go to bed!

Did you use to go to internet cafes? for me I always wanted to, but those places where mostly for guys, so it’s either am going with my brother or not at all! Sometimes I had to go when am outside Kuwait, but I never really liked those places :S

As much as I love the fast internet service that we have today, how convenient it is and that you can access a connection anytime and almost anywhere, as much as I miss the simplicity of the way it was before and how we used to appreciate it :P

I’m not really a Valentine’s Day person or really makes a difference to me, but its nice to take this chance to express your feelings to your family, friends and loved ones. I really don’t think you should hate all year long and come on this day and start loving! it’s just a day where you should focus on love and forget hate.

Thats being said, I would like to take this chance and start of with saying I love you Cheeky! You have been a good friend, a beautiful cow and a great blog partner :P I love you

The Mystery Behind the 11:11

Its been almost 3 months since I started seeing these numbers frequently (every 2 to 3 days), am not a myth freak or who would believe such things (just because I wouldn’t bother) but I’m interested to read about them, so I did! and I was surprised that a lot of people are going through the same thing. a coincidence? maybe! depends on who you would ask.

I’m a person who looks at the time a lot, so I would probably do that 5-6 times every hour. Living in a house where we have a clock on the wall in almost every room (including the bathroom) made me always aware of the time and it became a habit whether am at home, in the office, or outside checking the time on my mobile. This thing started a couple of months ago when I looked at the time and it was 11:11 and I was like “awwww I should make a wish” so I did! the second time, the third time, then it got a bit weird!

I’m not a person who believes in superstition and actually make it as a rule I live on, but sometimes I get curious, is it really a coincidence? is the universe trying to tell me something? either ways am sure I would never find out and I should probably let it go! but I was like what the hell, lets google it and that’s when I found out that there’s a huge number of people who experience the exact same thing for a very long time! hmmmm

So this post isn’t really about getting to a point or an understanding what it really means, I just wanted to share this with you guys, maybe some of you is facing the same thing, and INCASE anything happened with that number or date, REMEMBER THAT I SAID IT FIRST :P

healthy diet?

Hey all!!

in the run up to summer (just a few months left)..

i have decided to review some diets and post about them.. i’m interested to see what diets everyone has tried and how much weight they have lost so we can try to see which are the best…

i am interested in trying a few and see which works best for me…

how about you.. any interesting diets you’d recommend us taking a look at?

My goals is to lose about 5-6 kg in a period of 4 months (by June 10)

This may seem simple to all of you but i find it difficult to lose weight.

I’m gonna try to post weekly updates and give a brief overview of how i’m doing…

so please help me along in this :)

 

finally the weekend

i love the weeks where you feel you deserve the weekend! its been a long and hectic week..

but luckily productive..

unfortunately us folks here (in Dubai) did not have a holiday like you guys in Kuwait! so i’m a teeny bit jealous!

but i feel really good that i’ve managed to achieve a lot this week and finally feel ingrained back in work life.. after my loonngg holiday ;p

it only took about 2.5 weeks to get back into work life ;p

not bad eh ;p

room commandeered (stolen) by loopy neice

my psycho 17 month old neice decided that i shall not be allowed in my own room yesterday!!

she stood near my bed and yelled at me everytime i tried to step foot inside my own room..

the one time i managed to make it into the room! she pushed me out!

my neice is teeny tiny.. very petite for a 17 month old (mashallah – hope she always stays that way)

but she has become so naughty.. but then she looks at u with adorable eyes and pouts! and you go! sure.. have my room! ;p i don’t really need it..

when i went to the kitchen to bring her some water.. she didn’t like the idea of being alone in my room the little menace! ;p

i love her to bits perhaps not in spite of her naughtyness.. but perhaps for it ;p

these little people have such big characters sometimes! ;p

one of those days: not my PROBLEM

hey you guys..

do u ever have those days when no matter what any one does it becomes you problem?

i have had those days for the last two days at work!

one of the girls has resigned (who is my senior), so its me and an intern on my team currently!! everything that goes on is suddenly my fault according to my boss’ boss (my boss is away!)

so a document i wasn’t even incharge of became my problem..

an email that the girl wrote from my email became my fault! i’m just sick of it!

i’m ready to tear my hair out! i just need this weekend! so desperately!!!!!

why do i attract psychos?

i have a story to tell you about yesterday, but in order to do so i just need to give you a background from Saturday:

Saturday:

i was walking to the supermarket (Spinneys) the other day on saturday which is a few minutes from my house to pick up some blueberries! (i love em and they have such a nice burst of flavour) and some raspberries (for the tangyness that makes my mouth water everytime i think about them).. this was the first time i was going there since i had returned from my holiday from Kuwait…

and as i am walking to Spinneys there is a man who says hello to me, I say hello also.. he asks me how i am and where i’ve been (please bear in mind i have never even seen this man before and don’t know who he is, but he seems to know of my travels).. i’m polite and then say goodbye, taking a different route to him..

Yesterday (Monday):

i got home from work and went straight to Spinneys to pick up some sun-dried tomatoes to add to the salad i was making as part of dinner.. and who do i see in there! the same man as Saturday (i’m gonna call him “man x” from now on).. he says hi.. and ofcourse i am polite back.. i don’t know if the guy knows my father or whatever…

he’s in the queue to pay for his things as i get near the queues too.. he tells me to go infront of him.. i said thank you thank you it’s okay.. and went to a different queue.. he’s done before me.. but as i come out i see him on the phone just standing there.. he shuts the phone as soon as i get out and starts walking with me… this is how the convo went

him: what did you buy
me: things for a salad
him: fruit salad?
me: no just a salad with vegetables
him: if you ever make a fruit salad u must invite me
me: i hate fruit salads, i like fruits on their own
him: ohhh.. do you live alone?
me: no i live with my parents
him: are you married?
me: no
him: i’d like very much to get married
me: i don’t ever wanna get married, such a waste of time.. i’m happy.. why do i need a man to cause problems..
him: nooo!!! its very good.. u can have a different life.. u can have a man with you and then u can have kids
me: i hate kids.. they annoy me.. cause sooo many problems..
him: i must invite you to my restaurant sometime (pointing at the restaurant right next to us)
me: i eat there often.. its really nice food..
him: its because your mouth is lovely that you taste the food as nice
me: (smile) byyyeee
him: bye

i do not necessarily agree with everything that i said! but how do i react to that! i love kids!!! i absolutely adore kidsss!!!!!!!!!!!

why do i always find the weird ones :’(

 

 

 

one of those days – out of it

some of you may have known that I was in kuwait for some time in January..

well i got back to Dubai on monday and I am at work today.. i am so exhausted.. there are soo many places i’d rather be.. but getting into the scheme of work makes it better than sitting at home and wishing i was in kuwait..

i had a really great time but that just makes it harder to leave.. i wish i could just come back now!

so i know i went missing for a while..

but i’m back and better than ever (HAHAHAHHAHA) yes i am a nut job…

well i have missed this place and from now on moody n i are in the full swing of things :D

i heard this song and kinda fell in love with it..
