The Mystery Behind the 11:11

8 Feb

Its been almost 3 months since I started seeing these numbers frequently (every 2 to 3 days), am not a myth freak or who would believe such things (just because I wouldn’t bother) but I’m interested to read about them, so I did! and I was surprised that a lot of people are going through the same thing. a coincidence? maybe! depends on who you would ask.

I’m a person who looks at the time a lot, so I would probably do that 5-6 times every hour. Living in a house where we have a clock on the wall in almost every room (including the bathroom) made me always aware of the time and it became a habit whether am at home, in the office, or outside checking the time on my mobile. This thing started a couple of months ago when I looked at the time and it was 11:11 and I was like “awwww I should make a wish” so I did! the second time, the third time, then it got a bit weird!

I’m not a person who believes in superstition and actually make it as a rule I live on, but sometimes I get curious, is it really a coincidence? is the universe trying to tell me something? either ways am sure I would never find out and I should probably let it go! but I was like what the hell, lets google it and that’s when I found out that there’s a huge number of people who experience the exact same thing for a very long time! hmmmm

So this post isn’t really about getting to a point or an understanding what it really means, I just wanted to share this with you guys, maybe some of you is facing the same thing, and INCASE anything happened with that number or date, REMEMBER THAT I SAID IT FIRST :P

Therapy, Do You Need It?

23 Jan

We all probably grew up watching movies that shows people going to a therapist because they have serious problems! It’s either because they have lost a close person and can’t get over the fact that they no longer exist, or a couple facing problems in their life so they head to the marriage/relationship counsellor, or just a person who has some anger issues. No matter what it is, they always show us messed up people going to a therapist, which I think is wrong.

We meet different people everyday who we might think have some serious issues and need immediate action whether at work, family or friends. Those people don’t actually realize that they have a problem, a few of them who does don’t really wanna take it to a professional because in the Arab world therapy is for CRAZY people only. Not to forget also the fact that Kuwait in particular is very small and people care about their reputation and what people might think of them if they find out.

How would you know if you have a problem? or what are the signs that could tell a person is having a problem. This is the important question  now! To me this is how I rate people:

1. Depression: if a person is always depressed, can’t see anything good in his life, cries a lot, lost of interest in everything, doesn’t like to socialize with other, frustrated, all of these signs mean this person is going the wrong road in life! I’m personally frustrated with work and it can get me depressed every now and then, but there are so many other good things in my life that makes me happy.

2. Drugs: people who uses drugs (taking pills, alcohol, smoking) as a solution to make themselves feel better all the time. This is a huge problem as they end up addicted to that drug and obviously did not solve the main problem.

3. Anger: some people are always edgy, angry, mad at something, its like they are always on hold waiting for something wrong to happen so they can burst it all out! which probably would cause them lots of troubles and losing their close ones.

4. Health: some people may feel physical pain which is caused by some psychological problem that doctors can’t solve.

5. Low self confidence: people who always feel bad about themselves, they think they are ugly, they always compare themselves to others.

All of these things are signs that sometimes I notice with the people who I meet everyday, which makes me believe that those people need SERIOUS help asap and shouldnt take it for granted.

BUT on the other hand, I don’t think only those people should go and see a therapist, I think everyone should do that even if they think they don’t have a problem at all! now let’s be honest, we ALL had a problem somewhere in our lives, we all went through some tough times, we all have secrets, and we aren’t very educated in this field, so why not let someone professional take the lead and help you even if it’s just a small issue in your life! at the end it would make your life better wouldn’t it?

All am saying here is that am really interested in visiting a therapist some day! I think it would be fun and interesting, people should start looking at it in a different way.

Have you ever been to one? how did it go? and if no, would you?

Event: That Al Salasil Storytelling

17 Jan

After the great success that the previous storytelling events had, That Al Salasil is back with another event for the kids to enjoy :D The whole idea is not really just about reading a story for the kids and that’s it! its more like the experience the kids get where the reader tries to enter into the child’s imagination and capture their attention in a very easy and fun way. The event will have reading, drawing and small puzzles. We definitely encourage these events as they are very few around Kuwait, so head down to the avenues this weekend and take your kids for a fun and interesting experience.

Website: Camera Sim

16 Nov

A lot of you use their cameras almost everyday and specially when it comes to blogging. I have seen many types of cameras with my fellow bloggers and some of them are really good. I personally loves to take photos, but sometimes its hard when you are at an event and everything is happening so quickly and if you have a SLR sometimes it could take a while to set the right settings for the place you are in to get the perfect shot.

Am sure also a lot of you suffer when it comes to setting these options, that’s why today i come to you with a very useful website where you can learn what each option means and test it right away. Those options can be a bit confusing and sound so much alike, but it just needs some practice and you will be able to overcome it.

This website is called CameraSim, it basically helps you to learn how to use your SLR  properly and get great shots. It has SLR Camera Simulator where you can change the options and shoot and see how the picture turns out!  The other thing is the SLR Camera explanation, where they explain each option and what does it do, you can choose different background settings and shoot also and see the result!

I honestly think it’s a very useful and quick tool! it can make your life a bit easier, check it out!

Event: Crush It with Gary Vaynerchuk

26 Oct

Yesterday was the day that a lot of people were waiting for, a lot of people who had interests in social media, bloggers, or some owners of small business. They were all gathered under one roof to hear ONE guy telling them the truth about what happened and whats happening now, and also some predictions about the future of social media.

This guy is called Gary Vaynerchuk who wrote a book called Crush It which talks about following your passion and how to boost your business. Check out his website HERE.

I honestly was doubting myself yesterday whether to go or not, specially that I wasnt feeling well, but am glad that I did. Gary is definitely a great speaker, not one of those cliché ones who makes you drift to la la land and that life is full of beautiful things. He simply talk sense to you and explain everything based on reality.

I tweeted him yesterday and he replied to me and also to a lot of people who did, that says something about someone famous like him, we need to meet more people like him, people we can actually benefit something from, not just someone who say the same thing over and over again and act like he knows EVERYTHING! we know that you don’t so give us a break.

I wont tell you what he exactly said as most of you were there, I just hope you all enjoyed this experience as I did. A big thank you goes out to the sponsors who managed to make this event happen, we need more of this!

Follow Gary on Twitter, Facebook and more about his book Crush It.

Kuwait New Metro System

14 Oct

I’ve seen so many posts and articles talking about Kuwait’s metro system but this one is the best so far. It basically tells you what you need to know, ofcourse without telling the exact date when this system will be implemented. However, watching this video really made me think of how great it would be to have this done in Kuwait.

I’m one of the people who really enjoyed the metro ride, as long as its clean ofcourse! I’m hoping it would turn out great and effective as everyone is expecting. I wouldnt mind taking it to work if it will save me the trouble of getting stuck in traffic with all the frustration and anger. I’m just hoping that i would live for the day that i see it.

What about you? would you use it?
