Review: Jumeirah Messilah Beach

22 May

004

Yesterday we were invited to have alook inside the new Jumeirah Messilah Beach. Everyone was eager to see what we have been long waiting for to open, and now it’s here, and it’s really something! Too bad Cheeky wasn’t here (she left 2 days back to Dubai) though she would have liked the tour :)

I was greeted by the generous team of Jumeirah who took us around the place. Everyone was nice and sweet, so before I go on, just wanted to say thank you!

The tour included the following: Lobby, Executive Rooms, Residential Apartments, Wedding and events ballrooms, Bridal Suite, Restaurants, and the amazing pool and beach. It will take me forever to tell you details about what I have seen, and am not sure it would be easy to describe to begin with, but I will be letting you know my opinion in general, and you can see all the pictures below.

Overall Look & Feel:

Exotic! This is the feeling that i got from the whole place (excluding the rooms). The whole atmosphere, luxurious space, big pieces of artistic statues everywhere, ceiling and floors, all gave me that kind of feeling.

Rooms and Suites:

Just like any other 5 stars hotel, you expect something and that’s what you get, nothing more, nothing less. However, I haven’t stayed in the hotel and got to experience it, so it maybe different once you live in it, but from what I have seen, nothing caught my attention except probably the extra space. The only thing that I really liked was the front door camera, where you get to see whose knocking at your door through your tv, that’s cool :P

Wedding and Events ballrooms:

These were definitely spacious, crazy spacious! Amazing ceiling, decoration details and with a private door leading towards it, so if you have an event, you wouldn’t have to walk through the lobby to reach it. A cool idea is that they have a bridal suite (only for the bride) to celebrate with her family and friends before the wedding. Big spacious suite with one bed only :P so you party and leave :P I loved the idea, however it felt really big but not cozy at all!

Restaurants:

It would be difficult to judge based on walking through them only! but I liked the atmosphere of each, different styles and felt unique. Will definitely visit again and give some of them a try.

The Pool & Beach Area:

Now this is where ALL the luxury is! Amazing decoration, huge pools, kids area, humongous fish statue in the middle with a fountain, bar inside the pool, i mean what can I say, I absolutely loved it, will be definitely visiting VERY soon and get to experience it. We had dinner outside (though the weather was bad) but it was kinda worth it.

My thoughts? I HAVE to visit again, maybe spend a weekend to really get the experience of this great place. Thanks again for the invite guys, keep up the good work :)

The Gym Update

14 May

someecards_gym

So its been 2 weeks since I got back to the gym, in those 2 weeks ive only went 3 times and hoping they would be 4 by the end of the week. You might think that this is too little, well let me explain to you why:

- What am doing is that am taking only classes for now, so am not doing any other kind of exercise except that. Yes it’s not the perfect idea, but I need to start slowly and catchup with the rest of workouts later! I havent moved my ass since ages, life has been very busy and going to the gym wasnt at the top of my list, so this to me is definitely a progress!!

- The first class that I have went to was a body pump class, I barely survived and was VERY sore for at least 4 days, sore to a limit that it hurts to sit and take the stairs, so even if I wanted to go to the gym, I literally couldnt.

- When my legs started feeling better, I went again for the same class (talk about determination lol) and lucky me the instructor agreed to just focus on the upper body part, which was great, but again I was left with sore arms for 3 days.

- I have also went to 2 stretching class that helped to ease the pain, but still I guess my body needs time to warm up to this.

- Today i thought to try the spinning class, the problem is that I know my knees kill me whenever I do this kind of class or take the stairs, but am willing to change that and I thought this is a good step towards it, don’t you think?

So am trying to take things slow, I know I have along way ahead, and honestly at this point, my aim is not really to lose weight! My aim is actually MOVE! I wanna get used to exercising and not to get easily tired and all of that. So am giving this a shot, and I will continue.

Tell me about your experience if you like :)

One of those Days: Back to the GYM!

28 Apr

Well…techniqually…not yet there! But there’s no harm in preparing myself by writing this post and making it official so there wouldn’t be any way out! :P

It all started 3 weeks ago when I suddenly decided that I want to join the gym again, and not any gym, a gym that I would enjoy…feel comfortable at and have fun! So I thought of my friend who has been taking working out very seriously for the past year probably and have progressed dramatically. She has told me so much about her gym and how awesome it is, and I got a bit excited to be honest.

The fact is that am not a weight freak. I would love to be in perfect shape yes, I do have freaky diets every now and then YES! but I just think it would be a shame not to be active and workout on regular basis when I actually can!

So I made sure to pass by and checkout the place, it felt nice and decided to start a week after. Sadly that’s when I got sick and postponed the thing a week more. and then my mum got sick and we all got busy taking care of her! But now its official, next week ill be going to the gym, like it or not Moody, YOU ARE GOING!!

Anyone has any tips for me?

Cause: Eat Healthy Q8

“EatHealthyQ8 is a first of its kind Nationwide initiative that focuses on children with the help of their parents to improve their eating habits, and to curb the growing trend of childhood obesity in Kuwait. The EatHealthyQ8 Initiative is a collaborative effort by Diet Center Kuwait with the cooperation of the Public Administration for Private Education, The Ministry of Education, The Ministry of Health and the International Organization for Migration along with ARGANA Hotels and Resorts. The initiative of the initiative is to engage 10 different schools to enroll 30 children ages 11 to 14 in the EatHealthyQ8 program. The month-long program teaches children the benefits of proper eating habits and physical activities as part of a healthy lifestyle.”

This is such a great initiative that everyone should take seriously and support. I personally was one of the kids who grew up thinking that i always had to finish my plate, it didn’t make me fat, but it definitely forced me to take extra kilos here and there. Its something am working on myself and wanting to change. What about you?

You can help by doing the simplest things of switching off the lights of your house, your gadgets and just appreciate the darkness and silence for an hour. And please don’t just choose to go to bed :P

Too bad ill be working at the time, but I would have enjoyed celebrating it :)

For the 19th year (wow..thats along time ago!), NBK is hosting their annual Walkathon that takes place on the gulf road. It amazes me every year of the amount of people and the different ages that actually participate! It’s a very fun day that brings joy to everyone, and whats better than being healthy!

I have participated for 4 years in a row, then I stopped, its like every time something comes up that stops me from going, but it shouldnt stop YOU! go on and have a blast with your family and friends.

This year NBK is doing something a bit different, not only you will be walking supporting your OWN cause, but you can also win Galaxy Camera by taking a picture of the walkathon. The best 3 pictures will win the Galaxy camera, now that’s pretty cool ;)

The Long Holiday

22 Feb

4551262835_cc40a44579_z

As most of you already have traveled, and some of you hit the camps and shalaihs for the long holiday, I sit here and do nothing :( Everyone is extremely excited about the long holiday, and made lots of plans, but I couldn’t cuz it seems am not taking Sunday off, plus I have an event for work on Monday, so that probably killed it.

But now looking at it, what would I do if I really had the long holiday? would I travel? Ofcourse not, cuz I just hate packed airports and let’s be honest, 75% of Kuwait already traveled! Ok so what would I do then? Probably go out more, see friends, do absolutely nothing! Which is kinda the same. So maybe I shouldnt feel so bad about this after all.

So what are you guys doing? are traveling anywhere interesting? doing any fun activity around Kuwait? anything different maybe? please do share it with us, we would love to hear about it :) Have a great one all, we love you Kuwait.

Oh and if you are not from Kuwait, we are having this long holiday as a celebration of the national and independence day (25, 26 Feb).

Review: Call of Duty – Black Ops II

21 Jan

black_ops_2_wallpaper

Back in October, I wrote a post about Call of Duty – Black Ops and how hooked I was. Today I’m writing about Call of Duty -  Black Ops II, even though that its been out for a while, but I was too busy playing it to actually write about it :P

I have always liked video games but I never thought that I will EVER preorder any game just cuz I can’t wait for it! And that’s what I did, I preordered Black Ops II and couldn’t wait to put my hands on it. I didn’t even give the campaign a chance, I started playing online right away and I absolutely LOVED IT!

I was kinda worried of how advanced it would be as I have seen in the trailer, and specially that I didn’t like Modern Warfare 2 either, but I wasnt disappointed, the game was amazing. First of all, the maps are way more advanced and better quality with more hiding places. There are a couple of Arab countries included with people speaking funny Arabic :P They have definitely worked on the sounds and how realistic it can be. And finally, and the best part is the new NukeTown 2025.

A lot of people have recommended battlefield and I donno what, but so far am sticking to Black Ops II for now cuz am definitely enjoying it! I have reached Prestige 3 so far, maybe when I become a master ill get bored :P

So whats your favourite shooting game? and if you do play Black Ops II, hit me with your user name to kick you ass and show you how girls can play too :P

PS: I have heard a cool new map pack is coming out soon, what do you think?
